Professors Ware and Wilson to Speak at Upcoming St. John's Symposium


Professor Leland Ware will be presenting a paper, co-authored by Professor David Wilson, "Jim Crow on the 'Down Low': Implicit Racial Appeals in Presidential Campaigns" at the Making History:Race, Gender and the Media in the 2008 Elections sympsium to be held at St. John's University School of Law on September 26-27, 2008 at the Queens, NY campus of St. John's. 

Leland Ware is the Louis L. Redding Professor in the School of Law and Public Policy, Department of Urban Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Delaware.  David Wilson is an Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Delaware.  Both are joint facult at Black American Studies.

This interdisciplinary conference will bring together scholars, practitioners, and activists from various fields to discuss some of the most prominent issues that have shaped the historic nature of this year's presidential election.  Selected papers presented at this symposium will be published in an upcoming issue of St. John's Journal of Legal Commentary.  More information about the symposium may be found at this website.
